We are moving!

We have vacated our location at 8143 Main St, in Ellicott City, and are getting ready to set up our location at 239 West Read St. in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood in Baltimore!  We can’t wait, and according to all the great feedback from neighbors, neither can they!

We are having some phone issues with our voice mail, so please, if you want to reach us, email info@sweetbakerycafe.com.  we receive these emails on our phones as well, so urgent matters can be resolved quickly.

Christmas Eve will be the last day of operation of Sweet. a bakery and cafe in our Ellicott City location. We will be moving, the next week, to our new location at 239 W. Read St. in Baltimore’s fabulous Mt. Vernon neighborhood. Here, we will concentrate on what has made us famous; our beautiful custom cakes! We will also offer other delicious desserts and pastries. We won’t have a cafe-just a bakery. If you have a cake ordered with us, nothing will change; it will be delivered when and where you need it!

To keep up to date with us, visit or “like” our Facebook page.

You can also follow us on Twitter.

In addition, you can buy our pastries daily at the wonderful new coffee shop in Catonsville, Six Mile Coffee.

After we are open in Baltimore, we will have a system in place so you can pick up your cakes at Six Mile Coffee, if you don’t want to come to Baltimore. Stay tuned for more updates!

OK, I guess I gave it all away in the headline, but check us out! We will be promoting the Baltimore Bridal Show, and giving away a free wedding cake!
Tracey will be doing most of the talking, as she’s much better at that. Wednesday, July 28, 8:30 AM, Fox 45!

On July 4th, we will be open from 9 am to 3 pm. We are normally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so we will be closed on July 5th and 6th. We will be open normal hours on Saturday July 3 from 8 am to 6 pm.

We are fully stocked with Independence day themed cakes, pies, cupcakes, plus our full cafe menu! Enjoy the historic district on this beautiful weekend!

Many hard working merchants have put together a new promotion, First Fridays, where many stores will stay open later, until at least 8 pm. Other activities and music will be around as well. Come and check it out!

Come and see Ren Rick Band, tonight at Sweet, at 7 pm. Check out their reverbnation.com page, right here!

Our own Tracey will appear on Cupcake Wars, premiering on Food Network next Tuesday June 15 at 9 pm. See the link here to read all about it and see the profiles of Tracey and fellow combatants!

Sold out!

For this weekend, May 28, 29th and 30th, we are sold out for cake orders. This is one of our busiest weekends of the year, and we are sorry we cannot accommodate any further orders.

Chris, the general manager and his wife Pam are one of the couples in this year’s Soiree! to benefit Howard County Tourism. The event is a lot of fun, and is being held Thursday, June 3 at historic Belmont in Elkridge, Maryland. The bakery will also participate with samples of delicious Chocolate Dream Cake, one of our most popular desserts. Watch the video!

For more information, visit Howard County Tourism.
